The Paris -- August 8, 2001
This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
There is a small but very dynamic business community in the vicinity of 15th
East and 15th South in Salt Lake City. Pockets of commerce in residential
areas give the city a personality and a very special feeling of "community."
Small retail and service outlets away from giant strip malls and major retail
corridors have a very special feeling and charm.
A new addition will soon join the 15th East and 15th South community. The
Paris, a new restaurant and bistro, will soon open directly across the street
from the very popular King's English Bookstore. The facility will provide a
bakery and pastry shop, a market-deli and a café seating area. There will
be soups, salads, pizza, rotisserie chicken, and fresh made pastries,
breads and desserts.
Eric DeBonis is an experienced Utah restaurant owner. He and partners
have two properties in Summit County. Eric and his brother Todd own and
operate the popular Olive Barrel in Park City, and he and John Lyras
opened Mercado Mediterraneo in 1994. Eric is happy to open the Paris
because he lives in the neighborhood and has always wanted to utilize his
experience and talent in the Salt Lake City market.
The market-deli part of the business will offer staples like bread, milk, eggs
and other popular grocery items. They will also offer a selection of gourmet
specialty items. It is also planned to offer food seminars and special
cooking classes for customers.
DeBonis is a man of many talents. Not only will he fill the chef's role in the
Paris, but he has also done a great deal of the interior design for his new
property. His design will incorporate antique lighting and décor fixtures in
the style of 20th century historic Salt Lake City.
I'm delighted to see small neighborhood businesses like this grow and
prosper.
For Zions Bank, I’m Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
