Just 4 Kids Adventures, Inc. -- December 13, 2007
This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Shellie Godfrey never set out to be a full-time child care provider. However, after her son was diagnosed with a medical condition and she couldn't send him to daycare, she quit her job to be at home with him.
One at a time, her neighbors began approaching her about watching their children. Before she knew it, Shellie had a full-time daycare center on her hands. After she moved from West Jordan to Bluffdale, she decided it was time to open something bigger, and the result was Just 4 Kids Adventures.
Just 4 Kids Adventures, Inc., located in Riverton, is a family owned and operated child care center for children six weeks to 12 years old. The center offers daily childcare services and a curriculum-based preschool. Most of the teachers have been around since the center first opened in October 2005, which Shellie says is nice because the children don't have to constantly adjust to new teachers.
Children enjoy participating in the Adventure Club which makes field trips to places such as the candy factory, Cold Stone Creamery, a self-defense studio, the movies and the swimming pool. The activities are especially fun since the children get to help plan them and choose the destinations.
A transportation service to take children to school and pick them up in the afternoon is also available. During the summer, Shellie says the center will also take children to swimming lessons. The business has been so popular that a second Just 4 Kids Adventures location opened in Orem a month ago. Shellie's daughter is the director of that facility.
Shellie tells me that Just 4 Kids Adventures, Inc. aims to help children develop self-esteem from a young age. She loves being part of this process and hopes to keep watching the children grow as the center continues to expand.
