Dream Dinners -- October 1, 2007
This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Who doesn't want to come home, spend only half an hour in the kitchen and produce a nutritious and tasty gourmet meal?
Such a thing is possible, with the help of Dream Dinners. Working mothers Stephanie Allen and Tina Kuna created the first Dream Dinners franchise in Snohomish, Wash. in 2002. The two women wanted their families to eat healthy dinners together. They came up with the idea of providing a service where people could assembly multiple dinners then take them home to freeze and prepare quickly and easily at a later date.
Curtis and Carrie Rasmussen of Kaysville were fans of this concept and after the first franchise location opened in Orem, the Rasmussens became regular customers. Earlier this year they decided the busy families in their community and all of Davis County would benefit from having a Dream Dinners store close by. Their Kaysville location opened in May 2007.
Dream Dinners is set up so customers schedule a time to come into the store, and they prepare 12 dinners each month with a rotating menu of 14 dinners to choose from. All the ingredients provided are diced, sliced and perfectly proportioned, which makes preparation easy and efficient. When someone is ready to make the dinner, all they need is a pan to fix the already prepared meal.
Mostly it's repeat customers who frequent the Rasmussens' Kaysville store. Guests say it's a great concept, and the store has been warmly received. Many of the patrons who come to Dream Dinners enjoy not making a big mess in their kitchen. They can move from station to station and leave the mess behind when their dinners are finished.
The Rasmussens' store is one of six Dream Dinner locations in the state. Other stores are located in Logan, Sandy, Brickyard Plaza in Salt Lake City, Orem and St. George. Curtis encourages anyone interested in finding out more about the Dream Dinners concept to visit dreamdinners.com.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
