Monday's Metro Business Report -- June 29, 2009
THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.
Sand Hollow Resort in St. George will host the first annual Freedom Charity golf tournament this Thursday, July 2. This is a great opportunity to play on one of Golf Magazine’s best new courses of 2008, designed by BYU alumnus John Fought, and help those who served our country.
The tournament is a fundraiser for The Core V.I.P., an organization that helps returning soldiers cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The Core V.I.P. has developed cutting edge programs, facilitated by top-of-the-line professionals who are trained to assess the emotional and mental wounds that plague returning American soldiers. Approximately 30 percent, or 480-thousand, combat veterans will experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which can lead to alcoholism, divorce, criminal behavior or suicide.
There are still sponsorship opportunities available for this great cause. You can get more information and register your foursome at TheCoreVIP.com.
