222 Main is a gleaming and innovative 22-story office tower, taking shape against the skyline of emerging downtown Salt Lake City.

Hamilton Partners, the real estate development and investment firm that is building this environmentally friendly structure, reports exterior construction is nearing completion.

That includes the installation of a beautiful, translucent glass “veil,” which extends above the rim of the rooftop. Most of the 158 glass panels in the veil measure just over 9 feet high, 5 feet wide, and 1 inch thick, and weigh about 458 pounds each!

By day, the veil will be an architectural focal point that tops-off the building’s high-transparency exterior. By night, the veil will be back-lit, to become a distinctive beacon to downtown Salt Lake City, visible in all directions.

Congratulations to the developers of 222 Main, on raising the bar for design and construction – an important element in the exciting redevelopment of downtown Salt Lake City!
