Monday's Metro Business Report -- July 21, 2008
THIS IS LANE BEATTIE, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT
Summertime takes outdoor enthusiasts into Utah’s backyard with hiking, camping, boating and more. But medical professionals warn that with these activities come the increase of critical injuries and the “trauma season.” And that increases the need for blood donations. To help replenish the blood supply, Pierpont Place, Salt Lake’s Premier Event Venue, will host a blood drive tomorrow from 10 to 3. The entire process takes only about 45 minutes and donors will be entered into a raffle to win some great prizes. So drop by to “give the gift of life” or for more information contact Nancy Christiansen at (801) 738-0890.
In 2007, the state’s exports reached 7.81 billion dollars. Surprising to many, Korea is the United States’ seventh largest trading partner. Join us at the Chamber tomorrow morning at 8:30 to learn from the World Trade Center Utah’s “export experts” about doing business in Korea. To register, see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
